Data Protection Regulation

We are obliged under the Data Protection Act to hold and process personal data in accordance with the law. Charities do not have to be registered but must comply with the Act.

The Virtual U3A holds data, in electronic form, for the purpose of maintaining membership administration and facilitating activities or services, such as The Third Age Trust magazine for individual members, and consists only of the information required to undertake the said activities.

Such data consists of contact details (addresses, e-mail address) personal preferences and interests, stated willingness to become involved as a committee member or group leader, a stated desire of receiving the aforementioned magazine and an agreement to take part in the Gift Aid scheme.

We at the Virtual U3A are committed to ensuring that your information is secure and that holders are on a need to know basis.

We will not sell or distribute your personal information to third parties except for the administrators of the magazine and Gift Aid, unless we have your written permission or are required to do so by law.

We may use your e-mail address from time to time to send out information related to The Virtual U3A or that you may find interesting.

This policy may change from time to time and if so an amended copy will be placed on the website.
