(vU3A Wiki)

navbar A Virtual U3A has to have a place to be, a ‘home’ on the Internet. This ‘home’ is what is known as a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

The reason for using a VLE is to give the vU3A a structure to help it organize its various activities.
Establishments using the same system includes schools, colleges and universities throughout the world.

The VLE chosen by the Virtual U3A is powered by PBwiki and it is interesting to note that a number of schools and Universities have chosen Pbwiki for its their own learning projects. We call the vU3A customisation of PBwiki, vU3A Wiki, which then becomes the starting point for all new members of the Virtual U3A. vU3A Wiki can be seen by going to http://vu3a.pbwiki.com, and you can log in once you are a member. At this point, the visitor is ‘in’ vU3A Wiki . Members can then simply complete the registration form to take part in Discussion Groups, Projects and Study Groups of their choice.

Please note that the process of taking part in study can involve the process of collaborative editing called ‘wikiing’. This process is discussed separately on the present website and should not be confused with the name of our group pages which also include the word ‘Wiki’.
